Overall information about cataloging tasks completed by only one type of position can be found on this blog post.
Many respondents from all types of institutions reported only one type of position as responsible for completing certain tasks. The most common tasks that were only completed by one type of position were original cataloging and cataloging policy creation, both of which were most likely to be completed by professional catalogers. For copy cataloging, smaller institutions reported that it was more likely that professional catalogers completed this while the larger institutions reported that para-professional catalogers were most likely to complete this task.
